Terms of Service

By creating an account or using Detectly you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service. These terms form a binding agreement between you and Detectly (operated by Kieran Wallace).

Detectly is a cloud-based platform that analyses dashcam footage to detect fleet safety incidents, score driver risk, and generate annotated video clips. We provide the platform on a subscription basis.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time with reasonable notice. We will not be liable for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation.

You are responsible for:

• Keeping your login credentials secure.
• All activity that occurs under your account.
• Ensuring you have the legal right to upload any footage you submit.

You must not share your account with others or use the platform on behalf of multiple organisations under a single subscription.

You agree not to:

• Upload footage you do not have the legal right to process.
• Use the platform to surveil individuals without a lawful basis to do so.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or interfere with the platform.
• Resell or sublicense access to the service.
• Upload content that is illegal, harmful, or violates any third-party rights.

You are solely responsible for complying with applicable laws relating to employee monitoring, data protection, and dashcam use in your jurisdiction.

Paid plans are billed monthly in GBP via Stripe. Your subscription renews automatically until cancelled. You may cancel at any time from your billing page — cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

Refunds are not provided for partial billing periods except where required by applicable law. We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice.

You retain ownership of all footage and data you upload. By uploading content you grant us a limited licence to process and store it solely for the purpose of providing the service to you.

We do not claim any ownership over your footage. We will never use your footage to train AI models or share it with third parties, except as required to deliver the service (e.g. cloud storage providers).

You can delete any video or clip at any time from your dashboard. Deleted files are removed from storage immediately. On account closure, all your data will be deleted within 30 days.

Detectly is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the platform will detect every safety incident, and results should be used to assist — not replace — human judgement in fleet safety decisions.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from use of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months preceding the claim.

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the service after that date constitutes acceptance.
